DAYS 1 - 3: SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK, ZAMBIA

Welcome to Zambia! On arrival at Mfuwe Airport you will be met by one of Msandile River
Lodge's guides and transferred to South Luangwa National Park to spend the next 3 nights
at the lodge. Here you will enjoy game drives in the park to see the famous wildlife of the
valley!

SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK, ZAMBIA
Bordering the Luangwa River, the northern and southern Luangwa National Parks contain
some of the most breathtaking and untouched wilderness in Africa. As a result of this and

the parks’ successful anti-poaching campaigns, the area has developed into a world-
renowned wildlife haven. The South Luangwa National Park is renowned for its walking

safari, which allows visitors to view elephant, hippo and even lion close-up under the
supervision of professional and knowledgeable armed guides.

MSANDILE RIVER LODGE | SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK, ZAMBIA
Surrounded by the untouched South Luangwa wilderness Msandile River Lodge blends
luxury and sustainability. Set on the banks of the Luangwa River and overlooks a busy
animal crossing point, making this an ideal option for nature enthusiasts looking for a
relaxing getaway. The eco-friendly lodge leave behind nothing but great memories whilst
maintaining a high level of comfort and style. The tents and chalets all have excellent river
views for uninterrupted wildlife viewing from the luxury of your own room. Choose from the
luxury en-suite chalets that can be fully opened to the views of the river and the stars; the
classic en-suite tents a taste of true safari which have both indoor and outdoor showers; or
the standard tents, for those on a tighter budget or prefer to camp in true explorer style
which enjoy shared bathroom facilities. Enjoy twice daily game drives through South
Luangwa National Park, famous for its prolific wildlife and numerous leopards!

DAYS 4 - 6: MANGO DRIFT, LIKOMA ISLAND, MALAWI

This morning you will be transferred from South Luangwa to Mfuwe Airport for your
scheduled flight to Likoma Island via Lilongwe. Here you will be collected and transferred to
stay at Mango Drift for the next 3 nights.

LIKOMA ISLAND MALAWI
Although in Mozambican waters, Likoma Island is Malawian territory and is the larger of the
two inhabited islands of Lake Malawi, measuring seventeen square kilometres across. The
island boasts some lovely beaches, friendly locals, and predominantly flat terrain with a

baobab dotted southern side. It is home to the headquarters of the University Mission to
Central Africa, Livingstone’s mission, and hence it remained British territory when the Lake
was divided politically after World War Two. The island is famous for the large, beautiful St.
Peter's Cathedral, featuring numerous stained glass windows and intricate soapstone
details. Visitors can relax on pristine beaches, snorkel and dive in the crystal-clear waters,
and enjoy a variety of watersports.

MANGO DRIFT | LIKOMA ISLAND, LAKE MALAWI
Mango Drift is a backpacker’s lodge located on the west side of Likoma Island on the
beautiful waters of Lake Malawi. Accommodation at the property features beach chalets
and camping facilities. Guests staying at the lodge will have access to a separate shower
block at the end of the beach with two toilets and hot showers. The island is also an ideal
destination for enjoying outdoor activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving and kite surfing.

DAY 7: END OF ITINERARY

This morning after breakfast you will have the scheduled transfer to Likoma Airstrip for the
scheduled flight to Lilongwe for your onward journey.
